From a quiet store to top-of-page for every brand search.
How niuniudaddy.com — a weighted-plush e-commerce brand — climbed to #1 for its brand terms, grew its keyword footprint to 642 ranking keywords, and built a 358-domain backlink profile in 60 days.
The numbers that moved.
Tracked through Google Search Console, Shopify Analytics, and Semrush across the 60-day engagement window.
A plush brand with the product, but not the visibility.
The brief.
NIUNIU DADDY sells weighted stuffed animals — pandas, dinosaurs, sloths, penguins, and an entire range of anxiety-calming plush companions. The product was great. The discoverability wasn’t.
When we started, the store had decent direct traffic (loyal customers, Reddit mentions) but search engines barely registered it. The Authority Score sat at 9, branded queries weren’t owned, and 99.8% of the limited SERP visibility came from one or two head terms — leaving hundreds of long-tail product searches on the table.
The mandate: rebuild SEO from the ground up in 60 days, lock down brand SERPs, and give the product catalog a real shot at organic discovery.
Three structural problems holding the store back.
A broken technical foundation
Misconfigured robots.txt was blocking key Shopify directories. The sitemap referenced dead product variants. Hundreds of 404s were burning crawl budget on URLs Google should never have seen.
Surface-level on-page SEO
Product titles read like internal SKU names (e.g. “Customized weighted plush toys · None“). Heading hierarchy was inconsistent across collection pages. There was no topical structure connecting plush categories to anxiety, gifting, or sleep use cases.
An underdeveloped backlink profile
Authority Score was 9 — barely a pulse. Without foundational backlinks and citations, even well-optimized product pages couldn’t compete in a category dominated by Walmart, Amazon, and Target listings.
Three pillars, sequenced to compound.

Own your brand SERP first
Before chasing competitive head terms, lock down every variation of your brand name. NIUNIU DADDY now ranks #1 for “niuniu daddy” and “niuniudaddy” — the foundation every other ranking compounds on.
Foundations beat tactics, every time
The biggest single jump in keyword count came not from content but from fixing robots.txt, sitemap, and 404s in the first two weeks. Boring fixes, outsized impact.
Backlinks compound — even foundational ones
Going from ~40 to 358 referring domains in 60 days isn’t built on guest posts. Web 2.0s, citations, social profiles, and Pinterest are unsexy but they create the trust baseline that lets higher-quality links land later.
AI search is now part of SEO
198 brand mentions across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Mode didn’t happen by accident — they came from structured data, brand entity reinforcement, and citation-rich content. SEO in 2026 means optimizing for both classic SERPs and AI answers.
